Look at the countless time he has got her out of hotwater with section.She had to realized just how much R meant to M : Someway M would have kept R alive and given section what they needed

Michael and Nikita ... talking about Michael's sister ... It's nice to see how he touches her hand .... I adore to look at his eyes ... he's sad ... I love when he seems vulnerable I'd wish to protect him ... lucky Nikita ...

I loved Nikita's line when she said, "Maybe you should try talking to me next time, Michael. You might get better results!" Despite Michael's always "towing the company line" when it comes to Nikita and every other situation -- even how he simultaneously "managed" his marriage to Simone and his blood cover, apparently -- I find it interesting that the reemergence of Rene and his past has him somewhat "off kilter" here. I guess it's because of the debt he feels he owes Rene because of his sister. I agree with maap, though...the scene in Nikita's apartment is great! It says a lot about how far his relationship with Nikita has come, particularly since their rocky start in the opening arc of the season! GOTTA HAVE MICHAEL'S JOYSTICK! I have command. NIKITA: "You're going to kill me?" MICHAEL: "No. I'll shoot you in the leg and carry you back. But, it'll be easier for both of us if you can walk." "In life there is always some evil, some good. Posts: 0 (05/08/05 18:25:54) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The episode had great acting, gave us plenty of background on Michael, and helped re-establish Nikita and Michael on firmer ground. I loved the song as N was following M on his way to meet Rene. Classic Nikita music. What song was that? It also established Ops engaging in harassment of Maddy in a way that would have gotten him fired in the real world. No means no, right? If she refused his gift, he should have taken it back and let her alone for a while. My only real continuity blip this week: Was M's computer virus part of a plan to get Lehre Sanguine or did Ops give Michael a free ride since his friend died? If Nikita had acted in the same fashion I have to think they would have cancelled her on the spot.

But judging by the ops that immediately started following them and by his line in Ns apartment: A profile has been set I must say that I think it was all a plan to get Rene to his hiding place and eliminate everybody. JMHO. And Nikita in a way did act in the same fashion, by not telling Section, and "protecting" Michael Speaking of protecting...What WAS that line Ops had: "You are the future of Section One, Nikita" whaaaaaat????? I told you about those hints. I'm still in shock! *Quote:* Classic Nikita music. What song was that? I think that was Beth Orton with "Tangent". Ok...and now prepare for my comments I have lots of questions about this one, mainly rhetorical, so...stand still for I've taken notes on this one (my bfriend came by while I was watching and said: I bet you don't give that much work at courses and seminars". Busted! ) The first thing I loved about this ep was the way M puts his hand around N to protect her from the bomb. Awww...sigh. Did you notice that Ops wears a wedding ring? I've seen it in many eps! Hmmm...couldn't let the past go? And if he's so clung onto his wife...why is he harassing Maddy? Only because she doesn't want him? I also loved N's look at the briefing table when she prepares herself to say something and M just cuts her off. She's so surprised. I just loved the look on her face and of course...major thud when M puts his hand on her chair stopping her from getting away. Of course, she returns the "favour" taking his hand. LOVE it, did I mention that? I know, I'm loosing it...but I see HR every time those 2 touch each other! Ok...now my inconsistencies: How did N get out of Section with all those listening devices and goggles to follow M? Didn't anyone notice they were missing? Why didn't M realize he was being followed? In MR he caught N right away even if he was drugged and all. This leads me to think that maybe he DID know and just let her do her thing...knowing that he may not be able to carry on with that assignment. Why didn't anyone know that N accessed all those files? Was Birky taking a break? And why didn't that op in the room -- when N was listening to that broadcast about the manifestations -- hear anything? Ops and Maddy having lunch with a proper setting and all. Now stay with me on this one: Don't you picture M&N instead of them?(Of course just talking about the setting, NOT the situation) Why did N translate "L'heure Sanguine" to M? He was French. I know, I know, it was for us I love it how N at this point knows M well enough to tell when he is hiding something. Something I hate: Ops&Maddy checking out M's reaction when they told him it had been Rene who had been responsible with the bombing. He knew M knew and just poured salt on an open wound. LAME! And then...after capturing R...N saw M was hurt... He didn't even LOOK at her. He was upset! Nikita in her apartment...did you notice how she flinched when she heard the door knock( wonder if he had a special way of knocking ) and how she arranged her blouse before answering? How cute! So... he called first! WOW! Now that's a premiere! And Michael....actually TALKING to Nikita....Need I say more?? I'm done now.Bye everybody! "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." Given M a chance to see if he could save Rene. M really did care for him, in a way that we might not see him express deep feeling at losing a friend. I always remember how M help N in WOB. What did you think about Maddy making sure Ops got dinner while working late that night

Walter's her buddy! loan31 -- I'm not sure Michael COULD have saved Rene. Rene was he11bent on planting bombs and causing trouble, and Michael knew that wasn't the answer. If Rene wasn't willing to stop his actions, then Michael's hands were tied. Rene seemed to be pretty stubborn to me. I'm not sure Michael had any other choice than to turn him over to Section...unless he was willing to kill Rene himself, which he was apparently incapable of doing. I love that scene in the Briefing room It's short moment , but ... it's pretty intense see them ... talking in that way ... their body language is hot ... This eppy has one scene ... actually , the last one which breaks my heart .... Michael seeing his sister with her husband & son ... Poor baby .... so close but he can't talk her ... On another note , Is that boy ... I mean the son of his sister ... the same boy who plays the role of ... Michael'son Adam ... ? I guess so...

It would have been nice if we could have learned the name of Micheal's sister. About the tag scene, Ops tells Nikita that she is the future. ( I bet if he knew how prophetic that statement was, he would have shot her then and there) This may be the first intimation we have about the season closer with Adrian, or he may have actually been projecting even further into a future that he hoped would see him and Madeline at Center with Micheal running Section. In Playing with Fire, Madeline tells Walter that she and Ops have bigger plans for M&N. I tend to think she was telling the truth. They may have planned for Nikita to be by Micheal side while he ran Section, but only once they were secure in Center.

Personally, what really struck me about this episode was the scene where Rene Dian was going to shoot Michael, and Nikita got there just in time and shot Rene. Michael then said something like "you should have let him do it". That scene shows just how conflicted the usually non-emotional Michael was between his loyalty to the Section and the greater good, and his sense of loyalty and debt to his friend from the former life. - Some really great acting by Roy Dupuis.

What stuck out for me though, other than other things that have already been mentioned, was Nikita's ability to pick out Michael on the film from the demonstration. All those rioters, and she manages to spot a young Michael in the crowd. Amazing attention to detail, I guess! (even if he was on the front row, he's not who she was looking for) Extraordinary acting by Roy in this one, especially when he's on the verge of crying after Rene is shot.
