Re: LFN on DVD: Last Night

There are a few plots worth mentioning in Last Night.
First, there's the tension between Ops and Maddy. Ops is just dying to get Maddy alone in the tower. And Maddy could care less. But she eventually gives in to Op's desire, which she calls a weakness. She's so cold! Does this woman really have no desires, or is she just scared of any kind of relationship? Brutus is found at the alternate Epcot center. He's heavily armed and artificial. I found this a little humorous, actually. It was fun to watch everyone going in circles, including Brutus, trying to outwit and entrap the other side. Nikita, in her endless compassion, must go back to check on the girl left lying in the street. Nit-pick: how did Nikita get her hands on the key for her handcuffs? Did some nitwit actually leave it laying in the back seat? "It took me four days to find Nikita. That leaves eleven"

Interesting action, nice performances all round, but one of the sillier episodes from a logic standpoint.
I think the part we'll see next week about Maddy's husband factors in as to her ambivalence. Not that she was thinking of him, but TPTB were foreshadowing it. As to Brutus, uh, after the incident with Hillinger, they didn't stop to think what a machine might do with an open comm line? That was silly, and far more amatuerish than I would have expected from Section. On the capture, once N saw the girl was running around, shouldn't that have been enough for her to walk away? I know it would have taken the rest of her story out, but it just didn't register as true for me. |

I've mentioned this before, but I do think that Micheal unwilling to expose Nikita's actions, went to Albania to check out the family for himself and probably left them alone. Assuming they didn't all run and hide once they realized that Nikita had escaped and the police might be coming for them.

I guess it's either that or leave her potentially exposed. ![]() GOTTA HAVE MICHAEL'S JOYSTICK! I have command. ![]() NIKITA: "You're going to kill me?" Re: LFN on DVD: Last Night

What trouble? Even with being captured, Nikita was in and out of there pretty quick. Micheal is a model of efficiency. Besides, Micheal's too thorough to let a possible threat to Section go uninvestigated, much less allow it to be traced back to Nikita.

anansiimoj -- Maybe "trouble" wasn't the right word as much as "inconvenience." I get the impression that Michael "doesn't like his schedule disturbed," as my father said when I was born.

LOL KG!
What's the matter with you? Didn't you know that you were supposed to consult your parents day planner in-utero. Just showing up like that, so inconsiderate of you. Well, you must have had sufficient charms to win your father over or he wouldn't have kept you. Either that or he saw the NO REFUND, NO EXCHANGE stamp on your diaper and gave up. |

I still haven't had a chance to watch this one, so I've been holding off on reading your comments until can pop the DVD in. Hopefully I'll be all caught up by the end of the weekend, especially since we're moving onto another episode soon.

I finally saw the eppy
Maddy looked like Morticia Adams in this one Elevendaze-- Quote: Maybe shes afraid that Ops would be a distraction and that by allowing herself to be loved she will show a weakness Quote: Quote: The little girl left it there for her. First she asks for a knife or pin and then after she finds the key she sees the little girl standing in the shadows. Nikita smiles, as if to thank her. And later, in Michaels office she tells M: That little girl saved my life, dont repay her by killing her family. So its obvious the girl put the key there. Anansiimoj-- Quote: By the way michael just said "we'll see" at the end of their conversation, I got the impression she softened him and he just let them go. Of coruse, I may be wrong, but I think that if he intended to send someone to kill them instead, he would have just given her a blank stare, conversation's over! ![]() |
