Okay, and here is my piece, albeit a few hours late :

David Fanning, the cold-blooded hitman from Season 1, returns in this episode, to get his wife back: and he will stop at nothing to get his way.

This episode is So cool! There are lots of scenes in it that make it such a classic!

This quote by Operations is my favourite: “Most operatives are flawed in one way or another.”

The first scene that really cracks me up is in the armory, when Fanning asks Michael something like:
“Tell me, when you guys are between missions or on standby, how often do you have s*x?” By the look on Nikita’s face, she wanted to kill him right then and there. Any other guy but Michael would have decked Fanning or something, but Michael, typically of him, just told Fanning to mind his own business, in not so many words.

Another really funny scene is when in the woods Fanning asks: “Request permission to take a leak.” And Nikita answers “Permission denied.”

That was a very cool way to eliminate Nikolai Kusko, too. Putting a poisonous isotope on Fanning’s hand was such a classic. One could only wish Michael hadn’t given him the extracting agent upon his return.

Another classic moment is this exchange between Michael and Birkoff at the internet café, when Michael asks Birkoff to help him after Nikita has been taken by Fanning:

Birkoff: “You can trust me.”
Michael: “If you betray me, I’ll kill you.” (And the look on his face – he really means it!)
Birkoff: “That’s why you can trust me.” (LOL !)

It is very interesting to see how Michael handles one of Lisa Fanning’s guards. He certainly knows what he does. And the music that is used in the episode when Lisa sees Michael through the restaurant window: I LOVE it (does anyone know what that song is? It is SO romantic!)

Michael plays a valentine operative – I guess he has no choice, he has to save Nikita. But, to his shock, Lisa has changed and is not so innocent any more. Poor Michael gets badly beaten up by her guards. After that, he manages to take her off-balance, though, by manipulating her to believe that one or some of her guards are betraying her to her former husband. Then he quickly injects her with a tranquiliser and kidnaps her.

The next classic moment is between Nikita and Fanning. This time Nikita, who is chained to the fireplace in the hut in the middle of the woods somewhere (in West Ukraine?) pretends that the chain is shorter than it actually is and asks for her coat.

Nikita: “Request permission to get my coat.”
Fanning: “Permission granted.”
Nikita: “[Oops – (pretending)] can’t reach…”
Then when Fanning tries to give her the coat she attacks him and almost strangles him with a chain, and he can only stop her when he burns her with a burning piece of wood from the fireplace. Nikita kicks a$$! Luckily for her, Fanning takes it in his stride and does not kill her. He actually gives her some food after this.

Michael at first appears to be really cold in the jeep, when he grabs Lisa by the hair to prevent her from escaping. But later he gives her the best way out he feels he can give her under the circumstances: a vial of orange isotope (I wonder if this one was similar to the first one used in this episode…) And, as we see in the end, Lisa is indeed a much stronger person now and is not afraid to use it! - Although I personally still wish Michael shot Fanning from behind the tree when he saw the exchange between the Fannings and Nikita.

And another classic scene yet again, when Michael pulls a gun on Nikita:

Nikita: “[What,] are you going to kill me , Michael?”
Michael: “I’ll shoot you in the leg and carry you. [But] it will [make things] much easier if you can walk.”

What can I say? Apart from the obviously false bedroom scene between Michael and Lisa, this episode is not bad at all.

Hmm... I am afraid I have not seen enough yet to judge as to who the best SOTW in the series is, but I will certainly vote on it when I have enough knowledge.
