One of the key episodes of the entire series, I should think. Worthy of a full update in order to hopefully have a big thread on it.

It begins where we ended last week. Nikita come back from a mission, Carla is there, putting a gun in the back of her slacks. In a ruse, N is drugged. Apparently, Section presently has no security on her apartment, cause otherwise this would story would never have taken place.

As we come back, it's breakfast time for Ops and Maddy. She very coldly tells him sex was sex and it's over. Ops counters that she didn't have to kill Sands, but she says she did. I love Alberta. That stare could freeze molten lava.

Michael goes to N's apartment, realizes she's gone and starts a search as Nikita wakes up, and had leg irons on. Carla walks in, says she's awake, and someone will come to get her. Back at Section, M starts a search based on a cesium tracker, but the signal is scattered. M says it couldn't be N, cause she didn't know she had one.

N then pulls up her shirt to notice a scar, and Adrian explains why it's there, and starts explaining a lot about Section and it's procedures. Since N is wearing pants, it's obvious someone removed the leg irons which makes one wonder why they were put on in the first place. Adrian says M will cover for her cause he loves her, and N is to tell M it's about Lehre Sanguine, and anything else that happens will endanger M's life. So, N complies back in Section.

Back at Section, Ops brings in Leeds, a replacement? Maddy is not pleased. Leeds says "Look, I don't want to get involved in any politics here." Maddy replies, "All we do is politics here."

Next, there is an op in Africa. The team is shot up by a passing plane, bullets all round M, but he is not shot. Interestingly in this episode, N keeps taking more a profiler role than field op, while M is on site. Back at Section, Walter notices gold bullets, which Section used to use, and N asks him about Adrian. Now, how Walter never put two and two together, I dunno, but either he's slow, hands off, or was helping Adrian in some way.

Adrian continues the history lesson in the next scene. (Either this strengthens the Walter knew idea, or was simply good parallel writing.) Seems odd to me that Adrian would worry about an aircraft, but not so much about bringing a Section op to her place repeatedly, but so long as Section doesn't storm the place and... uhm, anyway... Adrian explains how Section changed since Ops took over, and how Section now has too much power.

Back in Section, Leeds shows his ability as a Section tortur.. uh, interrogator by slashing a SOTWs face. Well written scene though, "So that's why I'm here? to give you fashion tips?" The cut works, and makes Maddy feel insecure.

Next, N deftly infiltrates Section with Adrian's help and gets a file. M catches her, but her cover holds. She tells M she's tracing a linkage file for Section 4: Northern Europe. (Course, if Section HQ was in Paris before 3rd Season, isn't that kinda close? First and Second Season, I still think Section was in Canada. Just seems odd that Paul Wolfe, an American, would have his kid and his ex show up in France, that's all I'm sayin'.)

Next we get a quick briefing from Ops about a South American country where the leadership is changing, and Section is to protect the new leader Marin from a death threat. Oh, and btw, LEEDS IS TAKING FULL CONTROL. HEAR ME, FULL CONTROL! of this one. N isn't at this briefing, but then comes back to Adrian, hands her the mission disk N says she wants out. Adrian then tells N that Marin is a corpse and just doesn't know it yet. Ops will kill the guy to take the country for his control.

Sure enough, despite N's efforts to save the guy, a car bomb takes him out, and Leeds looks shocked. Back from commerical, Ops tells Maddy that Leeds is going to be cancelled, and she realizes that Ops brought in Leeds to save her. N goes to her apartment and signs up full on with Adrian.

The performances here were 100% spot on, the plotting dense but with great care, and I really, really liked this one!

elevendaze -- I kind of agree with you. This whole episode just seemed to be "setting the stage" for END GAME. I realize it was necessary for that to happen, but I feel like I'm just waiting for the "real" stuff to happen next week while watching this episode.

Sian Phillips is an amazing actress and is so wonderful as Adrian. I do think however that using L'heure Sanguine as an excuse for Nikita's absence wasn't very plausible. And here we have yet another instance of someone else being more certain of Micheal's feelings for Nikita than she is herself.

It was probably at some point earlier in the season when Ops and Maddy informed Nikita that Adrian was a potential threat and would at some point contact her as a recruit. I wonder if she was also informed about Carla's duplicity before the fact, she seemed surprised that Carla was working for Adrian and truly happy to see her again in In Between. Whatever Nikita's preparation for this assignment, as events show in End Game, I believe that upon meeting Adrian, Nikita became ambivalent about who to believe and her plea to Adrian to leave her out of the rest of the matter was genuine.

As for Sauvage, what a wuss! You're a terrorist and you're afraid of a few scars! One little razor cut and the threat of more and he breaks. Assuming Section really did release him so he could be of further use, I think his terrorist membership should be revoked.

Another fashion alert episode! That black dress Nikita wears during her first infiltration of Section on Adrian's behalf. The dress with most of the back missing, the heels, the shades. Whoa, what I wouldn't give to be able to strut like that. Maybe TPTB's did this to remind everyone that Peta used to be a fasion model, whatever, it was great. The only complaint I have about this is something that has been mentioned by Surnow or Cassar before, and that is the lack of jewelry wore by women in Section. Here Nikita has this drop dead outfit going on, where are the earrings?

Well Walter wore earrings! I'm kidding, makes perfect sense.

Care to elaborate? The only thing I like about this episode...is nikita serving M a bit of his own medicine , but on the other hand... I hate it that she lies to him...

With all of the power at their hands , Section One , why would they need to use Nikita to find and get to Adrian ???

Also , while Adrian and Nikita were in Adrians outside garden . The jet airplane that flew over at a high altitude was confirmed as being a comercial aircraft just on a routine flight by one of Adrians operatives . But was it ??? Section One could have had surveillance equipment on board or it could have been one of their own aircraft flying over giving out bogus info to air traffic control disguising itself as an airliner just doing its thing . It's possible folks .
